The Prognosis
from Wall Street How do financial analysts assess the food
logistics industry?
Greg Burns, JP Morgan, Transportation Analyst
David Nelson, Credit Suisse First Boston, Food Industry Analyst
Moderator: Jim Fowler, Alliance Shippers
How healthy are we? The financial markets have taken some dramatic
swings in the past 18 months. Food manufacturers and their transportation
suppliers have felt the impact. Why have some of the moves been so
substantial? Are the swings over? Is it simple market fluctuation/overreaction?
Or should we be paying closer attention? |

Procurement reporting structure.

Theres no place like home but is it Operations, Purchasing,
Procurement, Logistics, or Manufacturing? Where does your transportation
group hang its hat? Two major food manufacturers go head to head on
the advantages and disadvantages, now and in the long run, of two
very different models. How can the benefits of each be measured internally?
And what about the vendors on the outside are logistics suppliers
as happy with these different arrangements as the company managers?
